Mystery Q-Sponsored Park Bench!

Need some fuel for your conspiracy fire? Local blogger SouthDaCola spotted a “Q” park bench in Sioux Falls. Usually, these things are put up via sponsored donations, little tributes to that-guy-that-passed-away who loved to go fishing, etc. So, who ponied up the dough for this one? Did they pay in BitCoin?

Q Bench Sioux Falls

The sign’s been removed, but the mystery remains… Fear not, brother, it’s all under control!

Four Winds Music & Arts Fest!

Since Covid put the kibosh on Total Drag’s always-awesome live shows, we’ve been itching to get some local-ish live music in to our ear holes. This weekend we’re gonna get the chance!

The Four Winds Music & Arts Fest is coming to Big’s Bar. Now, of course Big’s ain’t as hip as Total Drag or the Icon space downtown, but they do have plenty of room and good-sized stage and enough grit on everything to make it feel like a real rock-n-roll hangout. If it’s your crowd that takes over for the night, you’re gonna feel right at home. (Talkin’ to you, hipster!) We’ve spent some good times with a few of these bands over the last few years, and it’s gonna be good to get back and get out and have a little fun.

Go Big’s or stay home!

ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons Spotted in Town!

Billy Gibbons, last-surviving bearded member of the legendary Texas boogie-rockers ZZ Top was just spotted at Guitar Center in Sioux Falls.

Why?

Well, as comedy-mastermind (and Guitar Center employee) Nate Hults tells us, “He was stopping through on his way to Sturgis. His lady wanted to stop at TJ Maxx.”

True story! Yes, even when you’re on your way to melt faces at the world’s biggest bike-rally, you gotta listen to your special lady. Remember that, gentlemen. Some things never change.

Go ZZ Top! We hope you’re kicking bass-less butt in the Black Hills. Do it for Dusty!

My Pillow Guy Pivots to CyberDude?

We’re a little late on this one, but it seems that for the last few days Mike Lindell, “Mr. My Pillow” himself has been talking down to the nation from the old Badlands Pawn. What is it about the place? Somehow it continues to be the Bermuda Triangle of bad takes.

Not sure how one was supposed to grab a ticket, but from what we’re seeing few have:

There’s only around 25 tables on the floor, and if each was full, we’re only talking about a mega-conference for about 150 or so conspiracy-heads. We didn’t count the heads in the pic, but it seems they were a little shy of capacity.

Not to let the drama drag, Mr. Lindell is now saying that he was assaulted at his hotel! (This remains unconfirmed by the cops.) Fortunately, there were also some devout folks in the parking lot gyrating to Christian Rock. Whether they were praying for him or against him has yet to be confirmed.

Well, That Was Quick! “O” So Good Leaves Wiley’s

When we heard that “DDD-endorsed” Chef Omar was moving his “‘O’, So Good!” kitchen from Garretson to Wiley’s Bar here in town, we figured it was a sad side-step for the chef, but a win-win all around.

With Sioux Falls growing slowly-but-surely more foodie, having a local celeb whipping up some beer-ready comfort food at a popular watering-hole surely made sense.

But just a few weeks later, SiouxFalls.Business reports that it’s game-over for the partnership. What went wrong? We’ve spent enough time in the food & bervaerage biz to guess that there was some serious drama. But if you know the real story, drop us line.

‘Til then, we wish Chef Omar all the best on his next thing. And we’ll probably still get back to Wiley’s sooner than later. It seems inevitable, ya know?
